Now Hiring: Manufacturing Controls 1 Engineer

Location: Garland, TX (On-Site)


Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) On-Call Rotation ( 1 weekend every 4-5 weeks; mostly remote support)

Compensation: $80,000 - $83,000/year base + Annual Performance Incentive (API) Bonus

Our client's facility is undergoing a major expansion, and this role is a key addition to building long-term site engineering capacity.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Controls 1 Engineer, you will serve as a go-to technical resource for day-to-day operations while helping lead site expansion projects:

  • Optimize & Support: Utilize PLC and HMI systems to optimize plant throughput, maintain strict quality control, and streamline production.
  • Troubleshoot & Resolve: Partner directly with operations, maintenance, and quality teams on the plant floor to diagnose and resolve hardware, controls, and process bottlenecks.
  • Drive Capital Projects: Contribute to the design, construction, installation, and commissioning of small-to-midsize capital investments and plant improvement initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply Lean/Six Sigma principles to eliminate waste, cut cycle times, and author standard operating procedures (SOPs) for site teams.


What We're Looking For

Basic Qualifications:

  • Work Authorization: Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder). (Note: Applicants requiring current or future visa sponsorship, including OPT/CPT programs, cannot be considered).
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or 4+ years of practical engineering experience) PLUS at least 1 year of relevant industrial, manufacturing, or heavy process experience.
  • Controls Knowledge: Formal training or at least 1 year of hands-on experience implementing and troubleshooting PLC and/or HMI systems.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of hands-on controls engineering experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Experience applying Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma methodologies.
