About the Opportunity
FHMD provides established arts enrichment programming that encourages creativity, exploration, skill development, practical learning, and self-expression. Classes may combine hands-on activities, collaborative experiences, and instructional content.
Teaching artists may use existing FHMD class concepts or develop their own approved curriculum. Lesson content should be appropriate for the specific age group and designed to actively engage participants.
FHMD works with teaching artists in multiple states and seeks qualified instructors wherever program opportunities are available. Most sessions follow school-year programming periods, including Fall, Winter, and Spring, with additional opportunities for Summer camps.
This position can be a good fit for professional artists and educators who are also managing performances, rehearsals, freelance work, or other professional commitments.
Scheduling & Class Details
Programs generally run for 6 10 weeks.
Classes usually meet once per week.
Standard class lengths are 45 minutes for PreK and 60 minutes for most other groups.
Teaching artists may select from existing FHMD offerings and/or submit original class ideas.
Instructors provide the disciplines, class types, and age groups they are qualified and comfortable teaching.
Teaching assignments are not guaranteed. FHMD continues seeking opportunities for approved instructors unless the instructor asks us to stop.
When an opportunity becomes available, FHMD sends an official class offer by email.
Instructors must accept, negotiate, or decline an offer within 24 hours.
Assignments are generally offered to the first qualified instructor who accepts the opportunity.
Compensation
Compensation ranges from $40 $60 per class for minute sessions.
This range represents the lowest and highest compensation FHMD reasonably anticipates offering for this position across the United States. Actual compensation may differ depending on enrollment, program structure, and available funding.
