About FHMD
FHMD partners with schools, community organizations, and senior communities to provide creative arts enrichment experiences. Our programs are designed to encourage curiosity, participation, creativity, cultural awareness, and a greater understanding of the world around us.
Arts & Culture classes may introduce participants to artistic traditions, cultural practices, historical context, storytelling, music, movement, food, visual arts, or other forms of expression.
We encourage instructors to make their classes interactive whenever possible. Participants should have opportunities to create, explore, discuss, practice, and experience the subject matter rather than simply receive information.
Who You'll Teach
FHMD programs may serve:
PreK 5th grade students
Middle and high school students
Adults age 50+
Most opportunities are conducted in person at schools, community organizations, senior communities, and other partner locations.
FHMD operates in multiple states and seeks qualified instructors in areas where programming opportunities are available.
Flexible Contract Opportunities
This is a flexible contractor position designed to work alongside other professional commitments. Our teaching artists may also be working as educators, performers, artists, freelancers, or professionals in other fields.
Most school-year classes run for approximately 6 10 weeks and meet once per week. PreK classes are generally 45 minutes, while most other classes are approximately 60 minutes.
Instructors provide FHMD with their areas of expertise, preferred age groups, and availability. You may also suggest original Arts & Culture class concepts based on your background and experience.
Being added to the FHMD teaching artist roster does not guarantee an assignment. We continue seeking opportunities for approved instructors until they tell us they no longer wish to receive offers.
When an opportunity is identified, FHMD sends the instructor an official class offer by email. Instructors must respond within 24 hours to accept, decline, or discuss the assignment.
Compensation
$40 $60 per class
Classes are generally minutes in length. This compensation range represents the lowest and highest amount FHMD reasonably anticipates offering for this contracted position throughout the United States.
The rate for an individual class may vary based on enrollment, program funding, and the specific structure of the opportunity.
Contractor Information
This is an independent contractor position.
FHMD does not provide employer-sponsored health insurance, retirement benefits, paid vacation, paid sick leave, or other traditional employee benefits. Instructors have the flexibility to communicate their availability and accept assignments that fit their schedules.
