Overview As an Accounts Manager, you will oversee a diverse client portfolio, ensuring timely accounts and tax compliance while identifying advisory opportunities. You'll manage workflow, deadlines, and client expectations, acting as a trusted business adviser. The role offers a clear path toward Senior Manager or Director, with exposure to strategic projects and business development. You will lead client meetings and mentor junior staff, shaping financial outcomes for multiple industries.
Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of clients across multiple sectors
- Review statutory accounts prepared by junior staff
- Oversee corporation tax and personal tax returns
- Coordinate workflow, deadlines, and client expectations
- Build strong client relationships and provide advisory input
- Lead client meetings and present financial results and recommendations
- Support clients with business planning, cash flow forecasting, and profitability analysis
- Identify opportunities for additional services and business development
- Liaise with HMRC and other advisers on behalf of clients
- Support Partners with advisory and strategic projects
- Manage, mentor, and develop junior team members
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and firm procedures
- Assist with recruitment, training, and retention of staff
Key requirements- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Significant experience in an accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation
- Experience managing a client portfolio
- Proven ability to review work and manage staff
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
