Overview

As a Senior Cyber Architect on the FBM SSE team, you will lead security-centric architecture for the Life Extension 2 program and related missile subsystems. You'll partner with cyber and systems engineers to shape secure designs, assess trade-offs, and guide testing to ensure compliance with DoD requirements. The role sits at the intersection of cyber security, systems engineering, and mission readiness for a critical defense program. You will drive architectural enhancements and coordinate across teams to strengthen hardware and software trustworthiness and overall security posture.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and evaluate design constraints and system/security trade-offs in the cyber domain
  • Provide oversight by coordinating with cyber and system architects and developers
  • Lead cyber architecture enhancements and implement architectural strategies for secure solutions
  • Support cyber security test and evaluation of hardware/software designs for compliance
  • Collaborate with security disciplines to optimize placement of systems within the architecture
  • Assist with control implementations and initial configuration baselines related to architecture
  • Participate in component trade studies to select optimal protection solutions
  • Coordinate with Integrated Product Teams and customers to execute SSE technologies
  • Organize domain expert evidence creation and documentation and system-level reviews
  • Support Hardware (HW) trustworthiness and risk management across lifecycles
Key requirements
  • Minimum DoD 8140 IAT Level III (e.g., CISSP)
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and threats
  • Proficiency with cybersecurity tools, technologies, and frameworks
  • Experience designing complex, scalable cybersecurity architectures in government environments
  • Ability to communicate security strategies and risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to inspire cooperation and motivation across multi-stakeholder teams
  • Strong technical writing and briefing skills
  • Clear and effective communication with diverse stakeholders
  • DoD 8140 IAT Level III (CISSP)
  • Cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and testing methodologies
  • Systems Engineering integration of security and cyber across life cycles
