Overview In this role you will lead the Closing and Real Estate Management function at Wallick Communities, guiding acquisitions, dispositions, and financing structures while ensuring governance, risk controls, and compliance. You will partner with internal teams and external counsel across the real estate lifecycle, from contract through closing to ownership and disposition. Your leadership will safeguard the company's interests and enable strategic business objectives. Responsibilities- Oversee acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings, recapitalizations, and ownership restructurings
- Review, draft, negotiate, and interpret purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, easements, operating and partnership agreements
- Guide due diligence activities and coordinate with title companies, lenders, investors, and government agencies
- Manage formation, dissolution, merger, and restructuring of entities; ensure good standing and governance compliance
- Oversee property, asset, and service agreements; monitor performance and renewal terms
- Assist with regulatory compliance, litigation management, and risk management with outside counsel
- Lead departmental goals, policies, and best practices; develop procedures for efficient transaction execution and governance
- Supervise and develop team members and foster a high-performance culture across the department
Key requirements- Bachelor degree + 5 years in real estate closings and preparation or 10+ years of equivalent experience
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) preferred but not required
- Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, financings, entity formation, and complex contract negotiations
- Strong knowledge of commercial real estate transactions and ownership structures
- Understanding of affordable housing programs, senior living operations, and related regulatory frameworks preferred
- Ability to identify legal risks and provide business-oriented solutions
- Excellent contract negotiation and analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective verbal and written communication and collaboration across all levels of the organization
- High professional judgment, integrity, and discretion
- Notary public (required on hire); attorney in good standing if licensed in Ohio
