Overview In this role you will lead safety, loss prevention, environmental compliance, and food safety for a Chewy fulfillment center. You will drive a safety-forward culture, partner with internal teams and external stakeholders, and mentor staff to meet regulatory and corporate standards. You will own audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety program enhancements at scale. This position offers meaningful impact by shaping safety practices across operations and ensuring compliance with laws and corporate expectations.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and implement Safety, Loss Prevention, Food Safety, and Environmental Compliance programs for the designated fulfillment center
- Influence and engage personnel to align with safety standards and a safe work environment
- Conduct training and mentoring to reinforce safe work habits
- Support management to ensure compliance with corporate expectations and applicable laws
- Conduct theft investigations as needed under direction
- Identify and recommend improvements related to safety, loss prevention, compliance and food safety through audits
- Perform Job Hazard Analyses and assess new equipment; facilitate incident investigations including near misses
- Lead contract guard service; log safety incident data in the metrics database
- Train others to fulfill Safety, Loss Prevention, Environmental Compliance and Food Safety responsibilities
- Maintain OSHA 300 log and required postings
- Collaborate with outside consultants, vendors, agencies, and government entities (OSHA, EPA)
- Foster a safety environment by growing engagement, accountability, and programs
Key requirements- Bachelor in Safety-related Field
- Two to Four years' experience in safety, loss prevention, or related responsibilities
- Experience leading a group or team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience in emergency response and maintaining First Aid/CPR certifications; knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Strong communication, partnership, analysis, judgment, and customer engagement skills
- Ability to analyze accident data and perform Job Hazard Analysis
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in personnel matters
- Travel may be required
- Experience with Workers' Compensation and a proven safety record (preferred)
