Overview

As a Renal Medical Science Liaison you will provide medical and scientific support for AstraZeneca's renal products and development programs. You will engage with KOLs, KDMs, and HCPs to exchange scientific information and advance therapeutic objectives. You will identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes, address barriers, and ensure appropriate use of products. You will lead regional and national data presentations and manage field medical projects, with mentoring across the team. This role supports AstraZeneca's mission to reduce acute episodes, hospital admissions, and premature death through science and collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Provide medical/scientific support for renal products and new indications
  • Engage KOLs, KDMs, and HCPs with scientifically balanced information
  • Identify opportunities to improve disease management and patient outcomes
  • Lead regional/national data presentations and field projects
  • Mentor and train field medical team and contribute to strategy alignment with Clinical Development and Therapeutic Brand Teams
  • Respond to inquiries to support appropriate use of AstraZeneca products
  • Maintain expertise in disease state, emerging therapies, and competitive landscape
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements
Key requirements
  • Advanced clinical/science degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years in clinical or commercial setting; MSL experience preferred
  • Strong healthcare system understanding and established TA networks
  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry
  • Proven ability to discuss scientific content to diverse audiences
  • Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and project management abilities
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment
  • Ability to travel 50-70%
