Overview As the Maintenance Superintendent - Electrical, you lead electrical maintenance activities at the refinery, coordinating preventive maintenance, repairs, and reliability programs. You oversee electricians and contract teams, ensure safety and compliance, and drive cost-efficient decision-making on repair vs. replacement. The role partners with maintenance planners, engineers, and operations to sustain equipment reliability and safe operations. Responsibilities- Direct electrical maintenance activities and personnel (employees and contractors)
- Develop and implement equipment reliability programs and procedures
- Analyze work requests to estimate manpower, materials, and replacements
- Ensure safety policy compliance and toolbox safety meetings
- Manage material needs, warehouse stock, and contract services (SAP use)
- Maintain equipment history in SAP and prepare monthly management reports
- Oversee reliability engineers and technical staff
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve total equipment reliability
- Audit work orders for volume, cost, and priority usage
- Develop databases and reports on costs, manpower, productivity, reliability, and forecasting
- Support planning/scheduling; contribute to PSM initiatives
- Prepare drawings, specifications, and procedures
- On-site presence at Valero Three Rivers Refinery
- Ensure outside repair/maintenance quality and cost efficiency
Key requirements- High School diploma or GED
- 10 years of electrical maintenance experience in refinery or similar industry
- Ability and willingness to work on-site at the Three Rivers Refinery
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree
