Overview

As an Associate Director, Medical Science Liaison, you will advance scientific exchange between Lilly and the clinical community to address unmet patient needs. You will lead field-based engagement with SEs/CEs, synthesize cutting-edge evidence, and support research and commercialization strategies. You'll work across functions to translate scientific insights into actionable plans that improve patient outcomes. This role offers ownership of strategic territory planning, cross-functional collaboration, and deep disease-state expertise in oncology. Responsibilities
  • Synthesize and communicate the latest scientific and clinical knowledge to researchers and clinicians in a given therapeutic area
  • Engage SEs/CEs through field-based activities to address clinical care gaps and provide evidence
  • Collaborate with Lilly resources and cross-functional teams to facilitate research opportunities and support development
  • Lead strategic territory planning and use analytics to identify and prioritize HCP engagements
  • Partner with clinical development to support studies and investigator-initiated research
  • Maintain compliance and exercise good judgment in line with internal and external requirements
  • Contribute to team goals and foster cross-functional collaboration across Lilly Medical and field colleagues
  • Adapt to evolving business needs and leverage digital tools to enhance engagement and information exchange
Key requirements
  • Advanced degree in health sciences (MD, PharmD, PhD) required
  • 2+ years of relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience preferred for MD/PhD; 5+ years for health-sciences Masters/Bachelor with related experience
  • Strong learning agility to comprehend and communicate complex scientific content
  • Proven strategic and critical thinking to interpret information and its future impact
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present complex data clearly
  • Self-directed, able to manage multiple priorities in the field
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to build professional relationships
  • Resilience and comfort with field-based travel up to 80%
