Manufacturing Document Engineer

Overview

In this role, you'll translate hands-on manufacturing know-how into robust technical documentation and control processes. You'll partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to close documentation gaps, drive root-cause improvements, and transfer expertise to the Technical Writing team. You'll support RF coaxial cable assembly documentation, Oracle maintenance, and configuration control, ensuring compliant, clear work instructions and specs. You'll work cross-functionally to improve first-pass yield and documentation quality in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and approve assembly documentation and redlines
  • Identify recurring issues in documentation and drive corrective actions
  • Capture tribal knowledge to reduce undocumented processes
  • Support process and system improvements within the MI team
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations on first-time builds to close gaps
  • Implement and maintain document control for compliance
  • Improve documentation processes to reduce inefficiencies and failures
  • Assist root cause analysis of design-related mechanical/electrical failures on the floor
  • Create, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing and testing documentation for RF coaxial cable assemblies
  • Ensure documentation aligns with internal standards and configuration control
  • Support creation and refinement of work instructions, specifications, and related docs
  • Assist cross-functional teams to resolve documentation and manufacturing issues and improve first-pass execution
Key requirements
  • Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience
  • Experience in RF cable or cable assembly manufacturing preferred
  • Lean principles experience in manufacturing
  • Experience with manufacturing control processes: change management, nonconformances, specifications, takt time, CAPA, and work instructions
  • Six Sigma or structured problem-solving experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • SolidWorks experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
