Overview Join a cutting-edge translational GI oncology group led by Dr. Ajay Goel to advance genomic and epigenomic characterizations of gastrointestinal cancers. You will develop liquid biopsy biomarkers and study the tumor ecosystem to predict therapy response, contributing to high-impact publications and potential tenure-track opportunities. Collaborate across disciplines and international consortia to shape early cancer detection and personalized treatment. Responsibilities- Develop liquid biopsy biomarkers for cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy response prediction
- Investigate epigenetic mechanisms in GI cancers (DNA methylation, histone modifications, non-coding RNAs)
- Explore genetics of early-onset and familial colorectal cancers
- Study tumor microenvironment, stem cells, immune regulation, and targeted therapies
- Investigate extracellular vesicles/exosomes in cancer pathogenesis and biomarker discovery
Key requirements- PhD, MD, or MD/PhD with strong oncology/cancer biology/immunology background
- Experience in molecular, cancer biology, and translational research; evidence of project development and supervising post-doctoral fellows and staff
- Demonstrated scientific rigor with high-impact publications as first/lead author
- Track record of securing extramural funding
