Overview In this role, you perform a range of clinical laboratory testing to support patient care, operating and troubleshooting core instruments, and ensuring accurate results. You work within a team to uphold quality control and safety standards while evaluating new reagents and maintaining equipment. You report findings timely and contribute to problem-solving in testing workflows. The position offers a chance to contribute to reliable diagnostics in a regulated lab environment, with opportunities to expand technical and collaborative impact.
Responsibilities- Determine acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures per SOPs
- Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
- Make technical testing decisions and solve problems
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls
- Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care
- Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies
- Assist with processing of specimens when needed
- Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE
Key requirements- Bachelor in Biology
- 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience
- State Medical Technologist license may be required
- ASCP or AMT certification is either preferred or required
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
- High level of attention to detail and strong communication and organizational skills
- Must pass a standardized color vision screen
