Overview In this role you will lead on-site operations for commercial construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. You collaborate with project teams to deliver safe, high-quality work on time and within budget, coordinating subs, vendors, and field staff. You drive schedules, safety programs, and quality control while communicating status to project managers and stakeholders. This position offers meaningful impact by shaping site execution and client satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day on-site operations for commercial projects with a focus on safety, efficiency, and adherence to specifications
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel to sustain productivity and quality
- Develop and enforce project schedules; identify critical path activities and resolve delays
- Implement safety programs and conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks
- Review plans, specifications, and RFIs to ensure field work aligns with design intent and contract documents
- Manage quality control processes, inspections, and prompt resolution of non-conformances
- Track daily progress, generate site reports, and provide status updates to project managers and stakeholders
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment usage, and site logistics to minimize downtime
- Support budgeting and cost-control by monitoring labor, materials, and subcontractor performance
- Facilitate pre-construction and coordination meetings; assist in client and architect/site visits as required
Key requirements- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and commercial processes
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills with experience managing subcontractors
- Proficiency in schedule management, site coordination, and quality control
- OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent; First Aid/CPR a plus
- Familiarity with construction management software (Procore, PlanGrid, Microsoft Project, or similar) and standard office tools
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
