Responsibilities- Lead preconstruction phases for MEP scopes including conceptual and detailed estimating, value engineering, and pricing for bids/proposals
- Develop and maintain project budgets, cost models, and forecasts; align with design progress and stakeholders
- Perform constructability reviews and identify risks; coordinate mitigation with engineering, design, and construction teams
- Define scope, procurement strategies, and phasing for mission-critical and commercial projects with cross-functional partners
- Prepare preconstruction deliverables such as basis of design, scope matrices, cost reports, risk registers, and executive summaries
- Coordinate permitting strategy with authorities having jurisdiction to align with milestones and procurement
- Lead kickoff and handoff to ensure knowledge transfer to construction teams with detailed scope walkdowns
- Manage subcontractor outreach, prequalification, and interface clarification to minimize gaps
- Support proposals including Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) delivery models with cost input and constructability guidance
- Utilize Procore, MS Project, Primavera P6, SharePoint, and JDE to organize workflows and documentation
- Mentor junior staff to promote best practices in estimating, scheduling, and constructability
Key requirements- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years of progressive MEP preconstruction/estimating experience
- Strong MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) knowledge and coordination
- Proven budgeting, forecasting, and cost modeling experience
- Experience with constructability, permitting, procurement, and long-lead item management
- Experience with data centers, healthcare, mission-critical, or large commercial projects
- Proficiency with Procore, MS Project, Primavera P6, SharePoint, JDE; familiarity with PXP and CCM
- Knowledge of LEED, healthcare construction standards, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to lead kickoff meetings and owner reviews
- PMP certification or equivalent preferred; PE and CCM a plus
