Overview In this role you will lead post-silicon validation for Microsoft's custom SoCs, ensuring functional, electrical/analog, and power-performance correctness at scale. You'll work within the post-silicon validation team to shape validation plans, tooling, and methodologies, collaborating across multiple organizations to deliver high-quality hardware on schedule. You'll mentor engineers, drive continuous improvement in validation processes, and align with One Microsoft culture to support Azure and cloud hardware initiatives. This is a high-impact, technically hands-on position at the intersection of hardware and software engineering with meaningful customer outcomes.
Responsibilities- Own post-silicon validation direction for functional, electrical/analog, and power-performance aspects
- Define and contribute to silicon debug tools, environments, and capabilities
- Coordinate program deliverables and requirements across multiple teams
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers
- Develop validation strategy, environments, tools, and test content
- Execute validation content, triage failures, and drive debug activities
- Engage with partners to improve design, validation plans, and methodologies
- Collaborate with architects, designers, verification engineers, and IP/tool providers
- Deliver high-quality results on schedule and share learnings to prevent bugs
Key requirements- Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 1+ year of experience OR Master's in same fields with 4+ years of experience OR Bachelor's in same fields with 5+ years of experience
- Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check and export control requirements
- Experience in hardware/software debugging and post-silicon validation
