Overview

In this Tax Manager role, you lead complex tax return work for diverse entities and provide strategic planning for real estate and high-net-worth clients. You'll manage and mentor a tax team within a midsize, people-focused firm that values balance and long-term success. You'll ensure GAAP and tax compliance, support audits, and drive integrated tax solutions across departments. This position offers remote or hybrid flexibility with a culture that prioritizes relationships and career growth. You will shape client outcomes through proactive tax strategy and tax-law insights.

Responsibilities
  • Lead preparation and review of complex federal and state returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profits
  • Provide strategic tax planning and consulting, focusing on real estate and high-net-worth clients
  • Manage and mentor a tax team to foster collaboration and high performance
  • Oversee GAAP and tax compliance, identifying and mitigating risk
  • Support clients during IRS and state audits and examinations
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize client outcomes
  • Stay current on tax law changes and advise clients on impact
  • Collaborate across departments to deliver integrated business and tax solutions
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA license required (EA or advanced tax certification a plus)
  • 5+ years of public accounting or tax management experience
  • Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations, especially in real estate and high-net-worth sectors
  • Experience with tax software such as CCH Axcess and QuickBooks
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship skills
  • Proven ability to manage tax planning for C-Corps, S-Corps, partnerships, and non-profits
