Senior Construction Manager, Power Generation

Job description

Overview

As Construction Manager for PG&E's Power Generation division, you lead hydroelectric project delivery, overseeing feasibility, contracting, and field construction to meet safety, quality, cost, and schedule goals. You collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and inspectors to ensure projects align with standards and permits while guiding field teams across southern hydro sites. This role blends planning, contract oversight, and on-site leadership to drive value on renewable infrastructure. You will shape construction outcomes in a mission-critical energy portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Identify contract-worthy projects and coordinate with crews
  • Prepare and interpret drawings/data for RFPs and contracts; renegotiate scope as needed
  • Provide constructability input during design reviews and job walks
  • Lead job walks and communicate schedule targets; monitor progress against IFC drawings
  • Manage project documentation and meetings with contractors and inspectors
  • Oversee safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance; coordinate with field inspectors
  • Use workload management tools to update project plans and manage planning team
  • Serve as field Incident Commander and PG&E representative in the field
  • Coordinate information/resources from internal teams to maintain workflow and budget
  • Mentor and train Associate and Career level employees
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of field experience in industrial engineering or construction
  • Experience in project coordination, contract management, and change orders
  • Knowledge of safety plans, environmental/land permits, and regulatory guidelines
  • Ability to work hybrid with field visits 1-3 days per week
