Preconstruction Estimating

In this role you drive preconstruction efforts for commercial projects, leading strategy, proposals, and client engagement. You will manage preconstruction staff, coordinate bidding and cost analysis, and oversee subcontractor relationships. The position emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, accurate estimating, and transitioning bids into construction phases. You will shape new business development and uphold company estimating standards to support successful project wins.

• Preconstruction management across CSI divisions for renovation and ground-out projects
• Oversee hiring, training, and performance of preconstruction staff
• Develop strategies for new business, marketing, and client relationships
• Lead proposal preparation and presentations for negotiated, hard bid, public and private opportunities
• Coordinate scope, cost analysis, and takeoffs for all CSI divisions
• Pre-qualify bidders and manage subcontractor/vendor relationships
• Produce cost estimates, budgets, and risk assessments for proposals
• Maintain estimating records and cost databases; utilize standard estimating procedures
• Lead handoff of preconstruction deliverables to Construction Department
• Ensure efficient and updated company estimating practices and processes
• Travel to project sites and client meetings as needed

• 4-year degree in Engineering/Architecture or Building Construction (preferred)
• 5-8 years experience in a similar commercial estimating role
• Extensive knowledge of CSI format and building trades
• Strong leadership, planning, and organizational abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in construction estimating software and blueprint reading
• Quotation, documentation, and sales presentation skills
