Overview In this role, you lead the laboratory's operations and team to sustain strong margins while meeting budgets. You'll align with corporate policies and act as a liaison with partners to drive quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. You'll oversee technical activities, plan investments, and ensure compliant, efficient testing programs. Responsibilities- Lead and train the team; manage scheduling
- Maintain high quality and efficiency in lab operations
- Oversee budgeting, capital expenditure decisions, and cost control
- Foster morale and teamwork; promote company vision
- Coordinate activities across lab departments; ensure client expectations are met
- Manage safety, health, and environmental programs and documentation
- Prepare technical proposals and support sales/marketing for major studies
- Conduct performance reviews; address employee relations with HR
- Represent the lab in technical meetings and with clients
- Assist in business expansion planning and implement process improvements
- Ensure documents and SOPs are compliant with Quality System requirements
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or related field; or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of supervisory experience
- 10+ years in laboratory operations with P&L accountability (>$5M net sales) or equivalent
- Proven success in improving operational, quality, safety performance
- Familiarity with EPA, DOT, OSHA, and DOL regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication; strong customer relations
- Ability to manage a business at a profit/loss level and control budgets
- Policy development and enforcement, prioritization, and delegation
- Contract and negotiation experience
- Professional English proficiency; work authorization in the United States
