Overview As a Senior Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor you will lead cost management across the project lifecycle, interfacing with clients to ensure value-driven outcomes. You will work within a team to develop cost plans, monitor budgets, and guide commercial decisions that shape project delivery. The role combines technical estimation, cost control, and stakeholder communication to optimise project performance. This is a client-facing position with opportunities to mentor colleagues and influence procurement strategies.

Responsibilities- Estimate and negotiate change orders through the construction lifecycle
- Produce and present final cost plans; assist design and general contracting teams with cost input
- Coordinate cost information from NPA, subs, and A/Es; reconcile changes with contractors
- Prepare cost estimates updates and executive summaries based on status information
- Lead cost checks, valuations, and post-contract cost variances; manage change control processes
- Develop and update cost plans through design milestones and support value engineering
- Negotiate with contractors and subs to secure fair pricing for the client
- Produce monthly cost reports and ensure timely final accounts
- Mentor and coach team members; promote leadership and best practices in cost management
- Support funding data, VE sessions, and design optioneering with stakeholders
Key requirements- 5-7 years of cost management experience in construction
- RICS accreditation preferred or in progress
- Experience leading cost management on medium to large, complex projects
- Strong knowledge of procurement routes, value management, and value engineering
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor-level degree in construction-related field
- Construction consultancy experience preferred
- SOX controls familiarity may be required
