Equity Research Associate, Software

Overview

In this role you will help build high-quality, market-moving software sector research. You will work closely with senior analysts to develop financial models, test investment theses, and publish notes that inform institutional clients. You will engage with management, the sales force, and clients while tracking industry signals to surface differentiated angles. This is a front-row seat to how differentiated research is built and delivered, with exposure to media-facing activities and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Build, update, and maintain financial models for the Software coverage universe
  • Conduct company, industry, and competitive due diligence to support differentiated research calls
  • Assist in the timely preparation and publication of research reports and notes
  • Track earnings, industry data, and disclosures to keep models and theses current
  • Prepare materials for client meetings, conferences, and expert network sessions
  • Interact with corporate management, internal sales force, and institutional clients
  • Monitor news flow and industry trends to identify differentiated angles
  • Support senior analyst's media and public-facing work, including prep for TV and press
  • Provide general research support and take on additional projects as assigned
  • Perform other tasks as required
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in financial services, equity research, or related analytical field
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency
  • Genuine interest in the Software industry and technology markets
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic, curiosity, and self-starter mentality
  • Comfort working with a high-visibility, media-facing analyst and fast-moving public profile
