Overview In this Senior Mechanical Engineer role, you will lead the design and oversight of HVAC and plumbing systems for large federal, commercial, and institutional projects. You will work within the Building+ Places group, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure quality, budget alignment, and technical excellence. You'll perform construction administration, site visits, and value alternative design approaches to optimize outcomes. You will mentor junior engineers and communicate design concepts clearly to clients, contributing to AECOM's mission to deliver a better world.

Responsibilities- Design HVAC and plumbing systems for large projects
- Perform Construction Administration (shop drawings, RFIs, change orders)
- Evaluate alternative design approaches with senior team
- Conduct site/field visits and conditions assessments
- Organize projects to meet quality and budget criteria
- Assist in proposals and client presentations
- Mentor junior staff in Mechanical Department
- Review and edit specifications
- Lead engineer on mid- to large-size projects
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET accredited)
- 6+ years of mechanical design experience in HVAC and Plumbing
- U.S. citizenship for federal contract requirements
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
