Overview In this HR Business Partner role, you will support the operating team to meet people-related objectives and sustain a high-performing workforce. You will partner with management on HR practices, employee relations, and compliance, guiding policy interpretation and issue resolution. You'll influence talent development, onboarding, and investigations to ensure fair, effective people management. Responsibilities- Advise management on employee relations and HR practices to improve workforce effectiveness
- Develop and participate in employee relations programs and succession planning
- Provide guidance on contract interpretation, policy interpretation, and compliance
- Assist with grievances, investigations, and discipline processes
- Support onboarding for new managers and leadership development
- Assist in layoffs, unemployment hearings, and EEOC-related matters
- Coordinate with Center of Expertise on escalated issues and compliance actions
- Ensure access to HR services and contribute to talent reviews and local training
Key requirements- 5 years' experience advising/educating managers on HR-related laws and practices in California
- 5 years' consulting with managers and employees on HR issues across employment lifecycle
- 5 years' experience delivering training and conducting investigations
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, practices, laws, and regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical ability and skill to influence leadership levels
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Proficiency with computer software for analysis (spreadsheets) and word processing
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment
