Overview

In this role you lead a growing engineering team on industrial automation projects, guiding technical solutions from concept to delivery while aligning with sales, PM, and company growth goals. You'll configure hardware, design control networks, and oversee documentation and on-site support to ensure successful installations. You'll manage budgets, staffing, and project schedules, driving profitability and team development. This remote position offers high-visibility impact and travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and quality control for a team across multiple projects
  • Specify and configure hardware components (instruments, PLCs, comms, control panels)
  • Design and configure control system networks
  • Develop project documentation (IO lists, device lists, scope of work, conduit scheduling, routing tables, FAT/SAT plans)
  • Provide on-site technical assistance for quotes, investigations, and installations
  • Manage project labor budgets and deadlines; coordinate schedules
  • Monitor workload distribution and forecast labor needs to maintain high utilization
  • Communicate staffing needs and capacity constraints to leadership
  • Collaborate with Executive Management, Sales, and Marketing to drive growth
  • Drive the team's P&L on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Act as an ambassador of Core Values and support professional development of associates
Key requirements
  • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 8+ years in industrial automation/controls integration
  • 3+ years managing and leading a team
  • Knowledge of standard engineering practices and procedures
  • Ability to develop PLC and HMI programs (Rockwell, Inductive Automation, AVEVA, Schneider, etc.)
  • Experience with process controls instrumentation
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
