Overview

Lead engineering activities to drive process improvements and labor standardization in our distribution center. You'll partner with IE, Facilities and Operations to reduce costs, improve flow, and support region-wide initiatives across divisions. The role focuses on bottleneck elimination, capacity assessment, SOP development, and data-driven decision making to enable scalable operations. You will translate ideas into practical implementations while coordinating with stakeholders and managing multiple projects. This is a chance to shape distribution efficiency in a Fortune 100 off-price retailer with a collaborative, development-focused culture.

Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering activities and promote process-improvement mindset in the distribution center
  • Analyze cost reduction opportunities via process improvements and cost/benefit analyses
  • Design department layouts and product flows; identify bottlenecks and propose cost-efficient solutions
  • Assess capacity impacts within the supply chain and develop SOPs with Operational support
  • Establish standards using MOST and full cycle frequency studies across operations
  • Utilize labor data to justify capex and process changes; communicate costs to senior management
  • Conduct ergonomic evaluations and implement workspace improvements
  • Translate concepts into implementable projects and influence stakeholders; manage multiple timelines
Key requirements
  • Five or more years of Industrial Engineering experience
  • Experience managing a team and leading multi-variable work measurements, labor standards, and process improvements
  • Exposure to distribution planning models and awareness of material handling tech
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Access, Visio)
  • Experience with Labor Reporting Systems, MOST and Standards Pro
  • Experience with Red Prairie, Manhattan or equivalent LMS
