Overview In this role you advise the Professional Liability underwriting team on product development and regulatory matters, helping to shape and launch insurance products and policy forms. You will manage rate, form, and SERFF filings, with a focus on New York and other states, while partnering with cross-functional leaders. You'll liaise with state regulators and provide practical guidance to the business, contributing to the growth of a developing product and regulatory function. This is a high-visibility, business-facing position with potential management responsibility as the function matures.

Responsibilities- Advise underwriting on product development and regulatory issues
- Develop, draft and launch insurance products and policy forms
- Manage rate, form, and SERFF filings
- Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, legal, and senior leadership on initiatives
- Liaise with state regulators to provide practical regulatory guidance
- Help build and develop the product and regulatory function with potential leadership over time
Key requirements- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership in good standing
- 8-10+ years in insurance industry (underwriting, regulatory, filing or product)
- Significant Professional Liability / Medical Malpractice experience
- Direct experience with NY DFS regulatory matters
- Strong experience with rate, form, and SERFF filings
- Experience drafting and reviewing insurance policy forms and products
- Ability to translate complex legal/regulatory requirements into practical business guidance
