Overview In this role you shape breakthrough consumer marketing ideas for Windows, Surface, and Services, translating product truth into culturally resonant storytelling across film, social, and digital experiences. You lead from brief through production, collaborating with directors, agencies, and partners to elevate craft. You work across brand campaigns and product launches, bringing strong narrative and platform-native ideas to life. This is an IC role with a hands-on, high-ambition approach that seeks to influence the entire creative system.
Responsibilities- Define and lead creative direction across multi-channel marketing for Windows, Surface, and Services
- Develop breakthrough concepts and campaign platforms rooted in audience insight and product truth
- Write and shape cinematic storytelling scripts from concept to final delivery
- Oversee film production stages including director selection, casting, shoots, and finishing
- Collaborate with directors, DPs, editors, and agency teams to protect and elevate the core idea
- Develop social-first ideas and paid social campaigns that fit platform-native storytelling
- Create varied formats including headlines, scripts, social content, and product storytelling
- Translate complex technology into simple, memorable consumer ideas without sacrificing intelligence
- Partner with Integrated Marketing, Advertising, Media, Social, Product Marketing, Design, Production, and external agencies
- Present creative territories and scripts to senior stakeholders with clarity and conviction
- Provide clear direction to writers, art directors, and production partners
- Maintain consistency across Windows, Surface, and Services while adapting ideas across channels
- Stay engaged with advertising, filmmaking, design, and emerging storytelling forms
- Incorporate AI and emerging technologies into ideation and production workflows
- Remain a hands-on creator, actively writing and editing

- Be hands-on in ideation, writing, and problem solving rather than only guiding others
Key requirements- Master's Degree in a related field AND 6+ years experience in a creative space for a global brand OR Bachelor's Degree in a related field AND 8+ years experience OR equivalent experience
- Experience writing commercials, brand films, short-form video, and scripted storytelling
- Experience leading pre-production through final delivery and collaborating with directors, DPs, editors, and production partners
- Experience with advertising writing across formats and developing social-first campaigns
- Experience presenting work to executives and guiding agency partners and freelancers
- Experience working in both agency and in-house environments; knowledge of AI-enabled creative workflows
- Portfolio of relevant work for review
