Overview In this role you originate mortgage loans from assigned bank branches and partner with branch leadership to grow Home Lending. You will coach staff on mortgage products and processes, and you will conduct outbound calls to engage customers while guiding them through loan applications. You collaborate with fulfillment teams to close loans and maintain proactive, high-quality customer communication. You stay informed on mortgage industry trends and ensure compliance with licensing and LO requirements, contributing to Wells Fargo's market presence and risk-managed growth.
Responsibilities- Originate mortgage loans at branch locations
- Collaborate with branch leadership and mentor staff on mortgage products and processes
- Conduct outbound calls to potential and existing customers about mortgage products
- Process applications and review rates/terms within guidelines
- Provide high-quality customer service and proactive communication
- Coordinate with fulfillment partners throughout the origination process
- Stay informed on industry trends and maintain visibility for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage
- Adhere to policies, underwriting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Comply with SAFE Act and LO requirements and participate in related training and licensing
Key requirements- 2+ years of sales experience
- 2+ years of mortgage retail sales experience (desired)
- Knowledge of general lending products and mortgage industry
- Experience with retail residential mortgage purchases
- Established relationships with realtors and affordable lending nonprofits (desirable)
- Experience with mortgage programs including LMI, lender-paid assistance, and 3rd party assistance
- FHA/VA and conventional loan experience (preferred)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to coach, train, and mentor others
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
- Willingness to travel and work non-traditional hours
- LO qualifications and compliance with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau requirements
