Overview In this role you will support the investment accounting function, ensuring GAAP and statutory compliance while processing and analyzing complex investment-related accounts. You'll work with the Investment Accounting team to prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements, contributing to the monthly close and external audits. This position offers a chance to impact reporting accuracy across fixed income, equities, and other investment classes in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare and review monthly reconciliations and analyses
- Analyze complex accounting records and financial statements
- Prepare journal entries and accounting adjustments
- Support GAAP and statutory investment disclosures and reporting
- Perform analytical reviews as part of the monthly close
- Prepare and support monthly financial close and financial statements
- Apply appropriate accounting treatment for various investment classes (fixed income, equities, mortgage loans, cash equivalents, alternatives)
- Research and respond to questions regarding financial results
- Support annual external audits and budgeting activities
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial statements and compliance with policies and regulatory requirements
- Identify and troubleshoot accounting issues and discrepancies
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of financial accounting experience
- Experience with investment accounting or financial services is preferred
- Experience with investment accounting systems or custodian platforms is a plus
- Strong knowledge of GAAP; statutory accounting principles desirable
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
