Overview In this role you will help modernize regulatory tax workflows at Entergy by building data-driven, automated solutions and AI-enabled tools. You will collaborate with Regulatory Filing, Income Tax Accounting, and Legal teams to improve accuracy, speed, and controls in tax data and reporting. You will shape technology-enabled processes that support regulatory filings, audits, and discovery responses at scale. This is a hands-on opportunity to blend tax expertise with data engineering to drive measurable impact.
Responsibilities- Contribute to automated workflows for ADIT, cost-of-service tax calculations, and per-book/regulatory reconciliations
- Evaluate changes in federal/state tax codes, FERC ratemaking, and regulatory accounting guidance, and implement tax/system changes
- Collaborate with Regulatory Filing Teams, Income Tax Accounting, Depreciation, and Legal to execute regulatory tax strategy and tech-enabled improvements
- Prepare datasets and audit-ready documentation using enhanced digital tools and structured data models
- Participate in tax strategy development focusing on automation opportunities to improve efficiency and regulatory consistency
- Ensure accurate financial accounting and regulatory reporting through manual and system-driven validation controls
- Support technology-enabled responses to discovery and RFI requests (e.g., automated data pulls, structured data exports)
- Design, deploy, and enhance automation scripts, data pipelines, and digital workflows using Python, ASI, Power BI, and AI-based review assistants
- Identify and implement modernization opportunities for tax data intake, reconciliation, and validation using ML, pattern-detection, LLMs, and API-connected financial systems
- Contribute to governance standards for tax data quality, tax-technology integrations, and internal controls for automated tax calculations
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 0-3 years for Tax Specialist; 4+ years for Tax Specialist, Sr; 6+ for Sr Lead; 8+ for Sr Staff; with experience in tax, accounting, automation, or analytics
- CPA or CMI preferred; certifications in automation/analytics a plus
- Collaboration across Tax, Regulatory, IT, and Legal
