Overview As Water Project Manager, you lead field operations, safety, financial outcomes, and team development on site. You guide the full project lifecycle for large water/wastewater builds, collaborating with leadership to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery. You will drive cost control, safety, and vendor/subcontractor relationships while shaping project outcomes and client satisfaction. This role is essential to delivering mission-critical water infrastructure with a focus on self-perform work where applicable.
Responsibilities- Develop project chart of accounts with Project Director and Estimating
- Create detailed project contract status reports
- Coordinate with Project Superintendent on site logistics plan
- Maintain understanding of McCarthy/Owner contract
- Oversee pay request process
- Monitor project costs and Job Cost Report
- Analyze and forecast quarterly Total Cost Projection reports
- Implement and monitor staff training
- Monitor project labor
- Review and approve material, forming system and equipment needs
- Assist Estimating in bidding projects
- Implement safety, EEO and Affirmative Action programs
- Lead the project quality process
- Develop, schedule and lead project close-out processes
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors and owners to reflect McCarthy values
- Implement all applicable Safety Programs and EEO/Affirmative Action Programs
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience in highly complex water/industrial construction projects
- Direct experience on water or wastewater treatment construction projects
- Self-perform experience strongly desired
- In-depth knowledge of water/wastewater treatment technology or process
- Advanced knowledge of construction principles/practices
- Experience dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work
- Experience leading successful project teams and maintaining relationships with external entities
