Overview In this role, you support high volume laboratory operations by ensuring specimen suitability and accurate testing. You will perform routine and complex procedures, monitor instruments, and troubleshoot as needed to maintain quality and timely results. You contribute to patient care by applying standard procedures, maintaining quality controls, and preparing reagents. You work within a team to sustain a safe, efficient lab environment and adapt to evolving testing needs. Responsibilities- Assess specimen acceptability against established criteria
- Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs
- Monitor, operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
- Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
- Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
- Report accurate and timely test results
- Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies
- Assist with specimen processing when needed
- Maintain a safe work environment and PPE compliance
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
- 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree
- ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems
- Proficient with computers
- High attention to detail and strong communication and organizational skills
- Able to pass a standardized color vision test
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts
