Overview As a Superintendent for food processing construction, you will lead onsite delivery across refrigeration, MEP, electrical, manufacturing, and warehousing facilities. You will drive safe, compliant, on-time project delivery while coordinating subcontractors and trades. You'll work closely with project management, engineers, and commissioning teams to support startup and turnover. This role offers hands-on leadership in a safety- and quality-focused environment with meaningful impact on food-processing infrastructure.

Responsibilities- Lead onsite construction activities for food processing facilities from mobilization to turnover
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, trades and suppliers for MEP, electrical, and refrigeration scopes, ensuring sequencing and quality
- Enforce food safety, sanitary design, HACCP practices and regulatory compliance
- Develop and maintain daily/weekly construction schedules; anticipate delays and implement recovery plans
- Conduct site safety meetings; enforce PPE and safety protocols
- Perform quality inspections; manage punch lists and coordinate corrective actions with trades and engineering
- Collaborate with project management, engineers and commissioning teams to support MEP startup and turnover
- Manage site logistics, material staging and equipment for warehouse/distribution layouts
- Provide leadership to field personnel; mentor craft crews; communicate progress to stakeholders
- Travel to project sites as required for supervision, commissioning support and client meetings
Key requirements- Proven experience as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects in food processing, manufacturing, refrigeration, warehouse or distribution facilities
- Strong knowledge of food processing requirements, sanitary design, HACCP principles and regulatory compliance
- Hands-on experience managing MEP and electrical scopes with coordination of subcontractors and commissioning teams
- Technical understanding of refrigeration systems used in cold storage and food processing environments
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and submittals
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills with ability to drive results in fast-paced sites
- Experience with construction scheduling, site logistics, quality control and safety management
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites; OSHA and trade-specific certifications preferred
