Overview

As Global Public Affairs Manager, you will strengthen Schneider Electric's public affairs capability worldwide by connecting teams, sharing expertise, and building tools and processes for effective stakeholder engagement. Based in Boston, you'll link the Global Public Affairs team with markets, driving cross-market collaboration and sharing insights. You'll lead global initiatives to raise the function's impact and ensure market experience informs strategy. This high-visibility role shapes how Public Affairs operates across geographies and functions, delivering value at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Assess capability, resource, and operating-model needs across the global Public Affairs network and partner with regional teams
  • Develop and maintain playbooks, templates, and guidance for stakeholder engagement, relationship management, engagement planning, partnership mapping, and impact measurement
  • Lead briefings, workshops, and onboarding to strengthen capabilities and share best practices across markets
  • Identify opportunities to improve Public Affairs tools, processes, and ways of working across the global network
  • Support markets with varying Public Affairs maturity by facilitating knowledge-sharing and access to resources and expertise
  • Serve as a connector between Global Public Affairs and market colleagues to share insights and best practices
  • Identify opportunities for cross-market collaboration on issues affecting stakeholder relationships and reputation
  • Lead global Public Affairs projects end-to-end, including planning, coordination, delivery, and reporting
  • Maintain a repository of market case studies and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement
  • Facilitate collaboration when stakeholder groups or priorities cross borders
  • Support the Global Director in improving connectivity, effectiveness, and visibility of the function
  • Monitor broader developments that may affect stakeholder environments and license to operate
  • Translate complex developments into practical insights for engagement planning and reputation management
  • Prepare stakeholder briefings, landscape assessments, and strategic recommendations for global leadership
  • Leverage market expertise to strengthen understanding of emerging stakeholder dynamics
  • Share external developments and best practices to enhance Public Affairs effectiveness
  • Partner with Media Relations, Crisis Communications, and other functions to coordinate engagement on shared issues
  • Support alignment of engagement and corporate reputation across functions and markets
  • Connect global initiatives with market expertise to inform strategy
  • Contribute to integrated responses to reputational issues requiring cross-functional collaboration
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen cross-functional collaboration in support of broader priorities
  • Build trusted relationships with Public Affairs and Government Affairs colleagues across regions and markets
  • Act as a two-way connector, bringing global resources to markets and ensuring market insights inform the global function
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing, peer learning, and collaboration across the global network
  • Identify opportunities to improve communication and effectiveness across the Public Affairs community
  • Support the Global Director to strengthen operating model, visibility, and impact of Public Affairs
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 7-10 years in Public Affairs, corporate affairs, stakeholder engagement, or related field
  • Proven experience leading projects and coordinating cross-functional, cross-market, or agency contributors
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building across geographies and organizational boundaries
  • Strong judgment and ability to work independently within a matrixed organization with escalation when needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to translate complex developments into actionable insights
  • High discretion and composure handling confidential or time-sensitive matters
