Overview

In this Traveling Superintendent role, you lead on-site construction operations for large data center and industrial projects nationwide. You drive safety, schedule adherence, quality, and budget control while coordinating a wide network of subcontractors and site personnel. You work closely with project managers, clients, and inspectors to deliver mission-critical facilities on time and within scope. The position offers travel-intensive, site-centric leadership with a focus on lean execution and flawless turnover of complex systems.

Responsibilities
  • Lead field operations for assigned projects, covering site logistics, scheduling, safety, quality, and productivity
  • Oversee daily activities of subcontractors, foremen, and site personnel
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure OSHA and company standard compliance
  • Coordinate with Project Manager, client representatives, engineers, and inspectors
  • Manage project schedules, foresee challenges, and resolve conflicts proactively
  • Ensure work aligns with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and local codes
  • Conduct site meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and safety briefings
  • Monitor and maintain quality control through inspections and documentation
  • Review and track field production, manpower, and equipment usage
  • Support commissioning, turnover, and closeout for mission-critical systems
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, progress photos, and field documentation
  • Serve as on-site representative, maintaining strong client relationships
Key requirements
  • 7 to 10+ years of superintendent experience on large commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects
  • Direct experience on data center, manufacturing, distribution, or industrial facilities preferred
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, concrete, steel, and complex building assemblies
  • Proven ability to manage large subcontractor teams and multi-phased schedules
  • Deep knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequencing
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to travel extensively and work extended schedules as required
  • Proficient with construction technology such as Procore, scheduling software, and tablets
