Overview As a Glazing Estimator, you will prepare accurate, competitive estimates for commercial glazing projects and help translate plans into actionable bids. You will collaborate with project management, operations, vendors, and clients to ensure proposals meet project requirements. You'll review drawings, perform takeoffs, and price glazing systems to support winning bids. Your role combines technical accuracy with clear communication to streamline the transition from estimating to project execution. This opportunity lets you shape bid strategy and contribute to successful glazing and exterior construction projects.
Responsibilities- Prepare estimates and proposals for commercial glazing projects.
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, bid documents, and addenda.
- Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs.
- Price storefront, curtain wall, window wall, entrances, glass, and related glazing systems.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Identify project scope, exclusions, inclusions, and potential risks.
- Maintain accurate estimating records and bid documentation.
- Communicate with general contractors, suppliers, architects, and internal teams throughout the bidding process.
- Assist with value engineering and alternative product/system pricing where appropriate.
- Support the transition of awarded projects from estimating to project management and operations.
Key requirements- 3+ years of commercial glazing estimating experience
- Strong understanding of commercial glazing systems, materials, and installation methods
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
- Experience with quantity takeoffs and construction pricing
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and organizational skills
