Overview As Administrative Manager, you will provide operational leadership for multiple outpatient MRI locations within Michigan Medicine, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, drive accountability, and implement initiatives aligned with the radiology department's priorities. Your role includes monitoring performance, guiding process improvements, and collaborating with physicians and staff to enhance access, quality, and experience. This position offers a pathway to develop future leaders and advance operational excellence in a complex academic medical setting.
Responsibilities- Direct day-to-day operations of assigned outpatient MRI locations to meet quality and service goals.
- Establish objectives, assign tasks, and oversee operations to support departmental performance and service excellence.
- Escalate significant issues to the Administrative Director as needed.
- Optimize patient access, scheduling, throughput, and resource use while maintaining safety and experience.
- Foster a culture of service excellence, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor performance via KPIs, dashboards, and metrics; recommend improvements to leadership.
- Lead workflow improvements and quality initiatives to enhance care, engagement, efficiency, and service delivery.
- Lead Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with physician leadership, nursing, APs, engineering, facilities, IT, and admin leaders to resolve operational issues and implement initiatives.
- Support planning and execution of capital projects, equipment installations, and program expansions.
- Assess technology, staffing models, and workflows to meet goals.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, coach, and develop staff; support a diverse and accountable work environment.
- Conduct evaluations, coaching, and performance management per policies and collective bargaining agreements.
- Assist in budgeting, productivity, and resource utilization; propose staffing and cost-saving measures.
- Develop staffing plans and workforce strategies to ensure safe, efficient operations across locations.
- Ensure regulatory, accreditation, MRI safety, quality, and safety standards; promote a safety culture.
- Implement policies and initiatives from Radiology leadership; provide strategic input on staffing, capital planning, and access initiatives.
- Support emergency preparedness and business continuity for clinical areas.
- Represent the department on committees and cross-functional initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership to support the department's mission.
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Radiologic Sciences, or related field.
- Current ARRT certification and registration, or equivalent imaging credential.
- Minimum of five years of progressive healthcare operations leadership experience.
- Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to collaborate with physicians, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams.
