Overview As an Associate Attorney in Labor & Employment, you will handle a mix of private- and public-sector L&E matters within a well-established defense firm. You'll work across wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and collective bargaining, helping clients navigate complex regulations. The role sits in Pasadena or San Diego, collaborating with partners to shape strategy and outcomes. Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of labor and employment litigation across private and public sectors
- Conduct discovery, draft motions and briefs, and take depositions
- Represent clients in hearings, status conferences, dispositive motions, and trials
- Advise on labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, and public sector compliance
- Collaborate on non-litigation matters including internal investigations, arbitrations, and counsel work with partners
Key requirements- 2+ years of labor and employment law experience
- Experience with L&E litigation including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation
- Familiarity with California public sector employment laws is a plus
- JD from an accredited law school; strong academics (top 50 or top 15% of class from non-top-50)
- Active California Bar membership
- Solid research, writing, and analytical skills with ability to manage deadlines
