Overview As a traveling MEP QA/QC professional, you ensure quality and code compliance across data center installations. You will inspect field work, witness testing, and drive QA/QC processes with field teams, contractors and design groups. You help deliver reliable, standards-aligned systems that meet owner requirements. Your work supports safe, scalable data center infrastructure at scale. Responsibilities- Perform regular site inspections of MEP installations to verify conformance with contract documents and industry standards
- Develop and maintain project-specific QA/QC plans, checklists, and ITPs for MEP scopes
- Witness and document FAT, SAT, commissioning activities and functional testing of critical systems
- Prepare NCRs, inspection reports, punch lists and corrective action plans; track to closeout
- Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance; coordinate with design and procurement teams
- Coordinate with contractors, commissioning agents, owners and engineers to resolve issues and ensure quality
- Verify installation tolerances, labeling, grounding, redundancy paths, and required documentation
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, TIA-942 and Uptime Institute criteria
- Train and mentor field quality personnel and subcontractors on QA/QC procedures
- Use QC software to record observations, generate reports, and support closeout documentation
Key requirements- 5+ years of hands-on MEP QA/QC experience on commercial or mission-critical projects
- Data center construction experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of MEP systems used in data centers (UPS, switchgear, PDUs, generators, CRAH/CRAC, chilled water, piping, fire suppression and monitoring)
- Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE guidance, TIA-942 and Uptime Institute criteria
- Experience witnessing FAT/SAT and supporting commissioning activities; ability to interpret test results and determine corrective actions
- Strong documentation skills with NCRs, inspection reports, test records and QA/QC plan development
- Proficiency with construction and QC tools/software (Bluebeam, Revit/AutoCAD basics, Procore, BIM 360 or similar)
