Overview In this role you will serve as the customer contact for product line operations and ensure service delivery meets contractual objectives. You will apply technical expertise to optimize drilling performance, oversee safe and efficient field execution, and drive customer satisfaction and service quality. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, quantify risks, manage inventory, and integrate value-added solutions. This is a hands-on position at scale, focused on optimizing completions fluids systems and delivering measurable outcomes for clients.
Responsibilities- Engage with customers to understand high-level project goals and business objectives
- Develop project plans and explore value-added service opportunities across product lines
- Define risks and mitigation plans; capture job-specific requirements and demand forecasts
- Manage project inventory, reconciliation, and deliverables quality (end-of-well recap, invoicing documents)
- Provide technical support throughout service delivery and evaluate performance against benchmarks
- Define resource plans (assets, products, workforce) and oversee service delivery to exceed expectations
- Apply advanced hydraulics and fluids knowledge to optimize completions operations and mud systems
- Generate and implement completions fluids program in collaboration with the Project Engineer
- Lead risk mitigation for hole problems, lost circulation, and contaminants impact on fluids
- Review and resolve invoice disputes; ensure compliance with contracts and performance metrics
- Maintain completions fluids system within specifications and calculate volumes and hydraulics without supervision
- Identify opportunities to apply new, cost-effective techniques and optimize pit management and solids control processes
- Demonstrate proficiency with Virtual HydraulicsTM software for hydraulics calculations
- Capture lessons learned and best practices for future projects
- Ensure regulatory and safety standards are observed in field operations
Key requirements- Minimum 10 years experience as completions/drilling engineer in oil & gas
- Knowledgeable on key SLB product properties, applications, and limitations
- Knowledgeable on mud properties and effects on mud chemistry (pH, calcium, alkalinity)
- Ability to generate and implement completions fluids program with Project Engineer
- Ability to calculate volumes and perform hydraulics calculations (annular velocity, bit hydraulics, ECD)
- Experience with solids control, screen size selection, shale shaker settings
- Ability to recognize stuck pipe and select release agents; manage lost circulation
- Capability to convert mud systems (Lignosulfonate, Lime, Saturated Salt, Gypsum)
