Overview In this role you drive the full development lifecycle of affordable housing projects, from site acquisition and financing through design, construction, and stabilization. You will be the primary contact for internal teams, partners, lenders, and public agencies, ensuring timely delivery within budget and compliant with funding rules. You'll coordinate design and construction activities, manage procurement and contracts, and lead risk mitigation and stakeholder reporting. This position offers meaningful impact by advancing affordable housing while shaping development and construction practices. You will work closely with cross functional teams to deliver high quality, finance savvy projects.

Responsibilities- Lead development lifecycle planning and execution from acquisition to stabilization
- Develop and monitor budgets, pro formas, and cash flow; coordinate financing strategies and lender relations
- Prepare schedules and coordinate design, permitting, construction to hit milestones
- Manage procurement, trades, and consultant selection; negotiate contracts and change orders
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, funding, and reporting requirements
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, GC and consultants to maintain design intent and cost control
- Identify and mitigate project risks; implement corrective actions and contingency plans
- Lead stakeholder communication and reporting to leadership, lenders, funders, and public agencies
- Oversee closeout activities including occupancy, final draws, lien waivers, and documentation
- Mentor junior staff and promote best practices in development and construction management
Key requirements- Bachelor in Construction Management, Real Estate, Architecture, Engineering, Business, or related field; advanced degree a plus
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in real estate development or construction management with multifamily or mixed-use projects
- Proven expertise across development, financing, design coordination and construction management
- Strong financial acumen with experience in pro formas, budgets, cash flows, and lender draws
- Experience interfacing with lenders, investors, public agencies and funding partners
- Excellent knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, scheduling, and cost control
- Superior communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Experience with project management and financial software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Yardi, Excel)
- PMP, CA, or similar certifications a plus
- Experience with LIHTC and affordable housing programs is desirable but not required
