Overview In this role you will oversee glazing and façade projects from contract award to closeout, ensuring coordination among clients, general contractors, architects, and installers. You will apply strong technical knowledge of curtain walls, storefronts, and related systems to manage schedules, budgets, procurement, and documentation. You'll monitor fabrication and installation, address technical and logistical issues, and maintain client relationships to support project success. The position offers impact on complex building-envelope projects within a leading NY market contractor.
Responsibilities- Manage glazing and façade projects from contract award through closeout
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and façade details
- Coordinate shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, procurement, and project documentation
- Manage project schedules, budgets, costs, and overall performance
- Coordinate with general contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, suppliers, and installation teams
- Oversee procurement and ensure long-lead materials are ordered and delivered on schedule
- Monitor fabrication and installation progress and resolve technical/logistical issues
- Identify scope changes, risks, and change-order opportunities
- Attend meetings and provide updates to clients and stakeholders
- Coordinate with field personnel to ensure compliance with drawings and specs
- Assist with project forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting
- Manage punch lists, commissioning, closeout documentation, warranties, and final completion
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and partners
Key requirements- 5+ years of commercial glazing/facade/building-envelope project management experience (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of curtain wall, storefront, windows, architectural glass, metal panels, and façade systems
- Experience managing complex commercial construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret architectural/engineering drawings and specs
- Strong understanding of schedules, budgets, procurement, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Experience with major general contractors in the NY commercial construction market (preferred)
- Strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software
