Overview In this role, you will contribute to SLB's nuclear domain by developing physics-based solutions for subsurface measurements and testing. You'll work within the Houston Formation Evaluation center to advance software, hardware, and prototype development for energy-related applications. You will apply experiments and modeling to design and evaluate new techniques, procedures, and products. You will collaborate across teams to deliver timely, tested solutions and contribute to knowledge sharing and documentation. This is a hands-on position with a strong emphasis on impact, experimentation, and cross-functional channels.
Responsibilities- Advance product development and support commercialization
- Provide engineering solutions using physics principles and mathematical models
- Build virtual and real prototypes for testing
- Design and coordinate testing procedures; document results
- Apply corrective actions to defects in a timely manner
- Conduct technical reviews of requirements, specs, and risk analyses
- Contribute to design standards and maintain product documentation
- Present findings to technical, management, and client audiences
- Author technical reports, papers, and patents
- Share expertise through internal knowledge-sharing platforms
Key requirements- B.Sc. degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or related fields
- Courses in experiment, modeling, and analysis of nuclear radiation data
- Strong interest in testing methods and data interpretation
- Fluency with Python, Matlab, C++, or similar
- Experience or interest in combining experiment with computing to gain insights
- Proven problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
