Overview

In this role you will oversee the evaluation, investigation, and resolution of primary construction claims within Starr's Primary Casualty group. You will collaborate with insureds, brokers, legal teams, and internal partners to handle claims proactively and fairly. You'll apply strong analytical and communication skills to determine coverage and settlements, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and learn within a growth-focused, entrepreneurial culture.

Responsibilities
  • Review and process new and existing construction claims with oversight of third-party administrators
  • Conduct investigations to determine coverage, liability, and damages, gathering documentation
  • Communicate with insureds, claimants, brokers, legal counsel, and vendors to obtain information and negotiate settlements
  • Maintain accurate claim files and documentation throughout the lifecycle
  • Prepare reports and summaries on claim status for management review
  • Identify potential fraud or red flags and escalate as needed
  • Attend virtual and in-person mediations/settlements and possibly trials
  • Contribute to claims process improvement and compliance monitoring
  • Ensure timely, professional responses and high standards of customer service
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-7 years of construction claims experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of primary casualty concepts, policy language, and regulatory requirements
  • Licensure within 6 months of hire
  • Analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn quickly in a collaborative environment
