Overview In this role you will provide legal counsel to Michigan Medicine and, periodically, to other university units on health care regulatory matters. You will work independently on a broad range of complex issues, aligning legal strategy with institutional goals. You will support the clinical enterprise, medical school, and statewide network, driving timely, high-quality guidance. Responsibilities- Advise on health care regulatory matters for Michigan Medicine and university units
- Support regulatory, medical staff, contracts, and transactions involving the academic medical center
- Manage multiple complex, time-sensitive assignments with organization and efficiency
- Collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver solutions
- Provide situation-appropriate legal guidance and proactive problem-solving supporting the mission of academic medicine
Key requirements- Minimum of 10 years of experience providing legal advice on health care matters
- Experience with regulatory, medical staff, healthcare contracting, and healthcare transactions; familiarity with academic medical centers preferred
- Strong ability to manage multiple complex tasks with high organization and speed
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Law degree from an accredited law school; admission to the State Bar of Michigan or eligibility for immediate admission
