Overview In this role you will lead architecture strategy for the Cards business, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available solutions. You'll own end-to-end architecture accountability across card platforms, data ecosystems, integrations, and components, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements. You will define target-state architectures spanning processing systems, APIs, event-driven models, and modern data ecosystems, including lakehouse and real-time streaming platforms. Responsibilities- Provide end-to-end architecture accountability on complex, company-wide projects from concept to implementation.
- Create architectural artifacts and target-state architectures for key initiatives.
- Define future technology strategy across applications, platforms, systems, and data domains.
- Identify high-impact projects and contribute to technology investment decisions and strategic planning.
- Assess architecture across technology domains to develop scalable solutions and integration patterns.
- Communicate architecture strategy to management and cross-functional teams to drive alignment.
- Make decisions on governance, maintenance, and evolution of architectures.
- Ensure adherence to Wells Fargo standards, policies, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with peers and partner organizations to resolve issues and achieve goals.
- Understand regulatory, resiliency, and risk management requirements for supported areas.
Key requirements- 5+ years of Architecture experience
- 5+ years designing enterprise-scale architecture for card processing, servicing, or payments
- 5+ years defining target-state architectures and roadmaps in complex environments
- 5+ years designing modern data architectures including lakehouse, streaming, and event-driven platforms
- 5+ years building and optimizing data models and cloud-based data environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- 5+ years developing data pipelines and governance/quality standards
- 5+ years designing distributed systems, API integrations, and midrange solutions
