Overview

As Senior Accountant, you will ensure GAAP-compliant financial statements and support comprehensive close cycles. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive accurate reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis, while aiding audit preparedness and process improvements. Your work will contribute to financial transparency and operational efficiency in a construction accounting/public accounting context. This in-office role offers the opportunity to influence financial strategy and partner with leadership to sustain strong controls and reporting quality. Responsibilities
  • Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, statements of equity).
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close with timelines and deliverables.
  • Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, including explanations of budget-to-actual results.
  • Support annual audit activities, including schedules, lead sheets, and auditor requests.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Analyze financial data to provide insights for business decisions and operational improvements.
  • Prepare routine and ad hoc financial reports for management.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and support inventory accounting processes.
  • Review HOAs financial statements and respond to related inquiries.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments to support financial objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies.
  • Communicate findings to the Controller and/or CFO.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Key requirements
  • Background in construction accounting or public accounting.
  • Strong GAAP knowledge.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to support financial reporting, close activities, audit preparation, and process improvements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA is a plus.
