Overview In this role, you will supervise a cross-functional BAS team responsible for the operation and maintenance of DDC infrastructure across campus. You will partner with controls engineers and facility teams to ensure reliable building automation performance and energy-conscious operation. You'll lead troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and handoffs for new construction, shaping scalable BAS solutions. Responsibilities- Oversee daily BAS monitoring and operations for reliable performance
- Coordinate with controls engineers to optimize system sequences and operation modes
- Provide technical support and ensure system integrity across departments
- Review alarms and data to proactively address issues and sustain performance
- Support campus energy conservation initiatives related to DDC activities
- Coordinate integration of ancillary building systems (access, security, lighting) into BAS
- Utilize fault detection and diagnostics to improve triage and troubleshooting
- Implement preventative maintenance, tuning and calibration programs
- Triage service requests, diagnose issues, and coordinate with regional teams for repairs
- Dispatch resources for urgent controls problems and manage response times
- Develop schedules and estimates for planned maintenance projects under $100K
- Participate in hand-off of new construction and renovations, including as-built drawings and training
- Support master planning of BAS network architectures for scalable automation
- Plan for resources, parts, tools, and vehicles and maintain vendor agreements
Key requirements- High school diploma with 10 years of progressive BAS/DDC experience OR Associate's degree with 5 years of BAS/DDC experience OR Bachelor's degree with 3 years of BAS/DDC experience
- Significant experience in BAS and Direct Digital Controls (DDC)
- Experience with Siemens Desigo CC, Siemens Xcelerator hardware, and legacy APOGEE systems
- Ability to interpret alarms, data, construction docs and specifications
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical and OT/IT networks
- Ability to read/write/modify PPCL and block programming and understand BAS sequences
- Supervisory or lead experience and CMMS usage
- Experience managing parts, tools, vehicles, and vendor relationships
- Excellent coordination and communication for cross-team work
