About the Position
TPA Motion is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented individual to assemble a variety of precision components and mechanical assemblies. This position requires a basic understanding of measurement, proficiency with common hand tools, and personal accountability for the quality and accuracy of completed work.
We welcome candidates ranging from entry-level assemblers willing to learn to experienced technicians capable of specialized assembly work or team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble precision components and mechanical assemblies according to drawings, work instructions, and established procedures.
- Use basic hand tools, including screwdrivers, wrenches, hex keys, and torque tools.
- Use measuring tools, such as calipers and micrometers, to verify dimensions and assembly requirements.
- Inspect components before assembly and check completed work for accuracy, fit, and function.
- Take ownership of work quality, identify mistakes, and promptly report defects or unclear instructions.
- Complete required production records and maintain part identification and traceability.
- Handle components carefully to prevent damage or contamination.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Communicate progress and issues that may affect quality or delivery.
- Support coworkers and assist with other production tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with small or precision components.
- Basic understanding of measurement, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Ability to use common hand tools safely and correctly.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; familiarity with assembly drawings is helpful.
- Strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a small team.
- Prior assembly or manufacturing experience is preferred but is not required for entry-level candidates.
Pay and Advancement
Compensation ranges from $18 per hour for entry-level candidates to $27 per hour. Placement within the range depends on relevant experience, technical ability, work quality, and the responsibilities of the position.
Experienced candidates at the upper end of the range should be able to perform complex assemblies independently, troubleshoot assembly issues, and/or guide and train other team members.

You consistently produce accurate, reliable assemblies, follow instructions, meet reasonable production expectations, and take responsibility for your work. You ask questions when requirements are unclear and raise concerns early so they can be addressed.
